Town doing the ugly side of things right for a change.

Poor game which we just about shaded
I don't think we actually created a genuine chance against bottom club
Big deflection created our goal
Still a win is a win
Much better attitude than last week
Pleasing clean sheet for our back four and keeper
Also minutes into the legs of some returning players

A paint drying exercise. No real quality today. Sorry a non event. But a narrow win for the Town.

What an poor game with defences on top and Town resorting to a lot of long balls. A much needed win and with so many Town players coming back from injury it was probably not too surprising that scoring chances were at a premium! I still don’t like the 433 formation that Lambert insists on playing. Toto and McGuinness both put in really strong dominant displays and Holy’s kicking and distribution is in my view better than Cornell. Chambers first half last ditch block definitely saved a goal. My MOM has to go to McGuiness. Great to see him score and he defended really solidly. We will need to play much better though to get anything out of our next two games.

That's better, not easy beating a bottom side. Good to get players back for important games coming

Ugly and got the win but the stench of Lamberts tactics hangs heavy in the nostrils

Good:
Holy made two decent saves when Nsiala was caught out of position. He came out and closed the forward down, deflecting shot for a corner. Saved from a Nsiala mis kick which was spiralling in. McGuiness won most things in the air, put himself about and scored. Flynn Downes was steady in midfield. Norwood ran his wotsits off chasing lost causes. Drinan did ok when he came on....especially when he has a partner up top.

Closing down and getting the ball forward earlier

Not so good:
Still trying to work out what Dozzell offers us. With one up front he has little options to aim for and his passing tends to go backwards/sideways. Not known for his tackling and tends to give fouls away(and pick up bookings). Edwards did nothing but give benefit of doubt. Judge had 5/10 minutes in the second half but was otherwise absent.

Ball watching by a few, aimless lumps up field. Only one striker.......again (P.S Lambert....it doesnt work)

A little more positivity in towns display and they deserved their win, but ultimately two poor teams.
Dozzell needs to be dropped for a couple of games, hopefully it would sharpen him up. Ward, again, looked like he didn't want to be on the pitch, time for Kenlock to get a run of games.

Got to somehow get more pace and power in midfield before we play the likes of Peterborough otherwise its the same as last season they will walk all over us. Not sure what Dozzell does for the team apart from sit in front of the defence avoiding any physical contact.
