Can’t rate as didn’t see game but sounds like a great performance

If you gave the referee more than a 1 in the ratings you need to take a long hard look at yourself

Really enjoyed the game, determined performance by Town credit to Paul Hurst for his positive tactics especially after we went down to 10 men. The boys/new boys looked so much sharper and fitter in a match that we would definitely have lost in the same situation if Mick McCarthy was still in charge. Gwion Edwards attitude, determination and ability outstanding and should be an inspiration to the others. But the other new boys showed great promise.

That was such a gutsy performance by Town, especially when down to 10 men against a (12 man) Villa, that referee was certainly not neutral. Standout performances by Donacien and Edwards, but the whole TEAM, by that I mean Management, players and supporters deserve much praise.

Up to and including their goal I was expecting us to lose but feeling increasingly confident that we'd lose with dignity. After Chalobah scored the whole timbre of the game changed and we really began to look like a team and one that could take this game. Villa switched to drama tactics and Grealish especially showed how urgently he needs a spell at RADA to improve his acting. He frankly disgusted me. The red card was a farce and was the pinnacle of the referee's inadequacy. But then - wow. Hello Ipswich Town - welcome back! Chambo worked his socks off, organising, covering, supporting. You'd never guess we were down to ten men. The Hurst plan was taking shape before our very eyes - both on the pitch and in the stands where the "twelve man" became the missing eleventh. Bobby would have loved this. Better than a win? Actually yes, it was, - for what it represented in terms of player bonding with player - players bonding with manager and fans bonding with all of 'em. I felt privileged to be there today.

fantastic atmosphere and great performance by the Team. Although thought Skuse did well harrying their players and got in some good tackles, his passing was poor with quick flicks giving the ball away when a more measured pass was needed to keep possession.

Skuse stand out bad player again gave the ball away in dangerous places and constantly dragged out of position. Honestly don't think he's up to Championship level. How has the Pole in the goal got a similar rating after a great save late on I'll never know. Micks favourites are now the the fans favourites.

I agree with the majority of blues fans who admired our team spirit in the second half. Determined performances from Chalobah, and Edwards were the highlight. I also thought Chambers played a vital role in that game leading from the back rallying the lads. Villa were dreadful compared to last season and most of their fans I spoke to after the game think they will stay down this season! They also thought the ref was terrible on the day!

Smithy, I gave the ref three. One point for turning up, another for getting a couple of decisions right in the second half and the third one, ironically of course, for being the reason why Portman Road became a collesium of noise, passion and pride as our 10 men said up yours mate for a wrongful dismissal and protecting villains.
