Hes stated that his ambition is to manage in the champions league. So the question he has is at what stage does he jump to a top 6 club.
Thats partly why i dont aee him going to Brighton. He doesnt need a stepping stone club.
For money he will stick with us for another season or two but you cant second guess someone elses thoughts. |  |

It's the key reason I don't think McKenna will be leaving for Brighton, is the structure of this club, the owners and that journey back to Europe. We're back in the Prem now, and it has happened far quicker and with considerably less money spent than the owners would have imagined. They won't slack off now. |  |

I think you make a very good point CB. I suspect the ambition of the owners is greater than many people have realised. This is no Evans style ‘quick flip’. Evidence? The way they’ve gone about it and what they’ve put in place.
This club is structured now. Now more total reliance on a man with a coffee cup, dirty t shirt and a tendency to blow his top. There are defined departments for all elements with expertise and all pulling in the same direction. Got right, this is a very powerful thing.
I noticed when Ashton was asked about recruitment within the club he was quick to point out that while media will need beefing up, recruitment everywhere else is largely in place. In other words, they’ve largely geared for the Premier League.
We are no longer a shrinking club; a byword for mediocrity with a faded badge. Who knows what’ll happen/what the future holds, but I don’t get the impression the owners are ‘going to slacken off now’. It’s very exciting. |  | | |

In 1998-99, ManCity were in the third tier. A double promotion and one yo-yo later, they gained a permanent foot-hold in the Prem. Eight years later they were qualifying for Europe. Two years after that they won the Prem, then repeatedly thereafter.
Not saying we can exactly emulate that trajectory (one heck of a lot of money was spent), but it's not impossible to get somewhere close. |  |
