15 essential stadium upgrades/updates
at 12:43 8 May 2024

I read some of that yesterday. Quite a weighty tome! Doesn’t it say that we need 15 places for overseas commentary teams?

“Lucky Ipswich”!!!!!

Wasn’t the only red card last year the one that Clarke got at Fleetwood when the season was effectively over?

From what I’ve heard, he doesn’t need extending.

The pitch invasion thing…
at 12:58 2 May 2024

At the outset, it’s not feasible for me as I’m in Block B, and have an octogenarian father with me who’d struggle to mount a privet hedge let alone a Cobbold Stand wall, however what is the general feeling about the above?

I was on the pitch for the Bolton semi-final win in 2000 as a young buck, and at the time it was a lifetime highlight. Conversely, like others I watched on as the players did their lap of honour and extended celebrations last season.

It was those post-Exeter celebrations that live longer however. It was a terrific 45 minutes or so, and would love to see them again IF we manage it on Saturday. Does a pitch invasion preclude there being any repeat of last year’s party? Can you get 5,000 folk back into their seats again?!

I genuinely believe If we had beat Maidstone - we wouldn’t be second
at 10:48 1 May 2024

100% agree. However, it also demonstrates how stupid football is…..if Maidstone can beat us, then a point on Saturday isn’t guaranteed! (I do acknowledge it wasn’t our strongest XI, but still.)

Frankly, I never want to play Norwich City ever again.

Goes to show how transfer fee inflation is off the scale; Taricco went for £2m if I remember correctly.

A generation later and young Leif could be worth £20m+.

Will struggle to fit it in around the Lazio fixture.

Montrose! Yes!

Look out for their results every week. Have promised myself that I’ll go and watch them one day. All stems from my father’s first Hornby train being “The Duchess of Montrose.”

Grimsby (h) April 1992 vibes.
at 22:56 10 Apr 2024

Yes!!! That!! Was there. So many similarities. Grimsby had a corner in last five minutes, and played it straight back to their goalkeeper!

Todays ticketing
at 12:02 7 Apr 2024

I agree, and can absolutely see both sides of the story.

Getting an away ticket is akin to getting membership at Lord’s at present; I’m a season ticket holder yet it could be 24 years until I get a sniff of an away ticket at Carrow Road….broadly the same time as it would take me to get membership of MCC if I started today.

“Comp” tickets going to friends and family has been a concept since ticketed events have been around. I was offered two tickets by an unnamed member of staff, however was unable to attend!

However….if I did have the necessary points and had travelled the length and breadth of the country this season in following the team, I’d be proper peed off if I was unable to get one for yesterday because (it is alleged) the manager of the local gym was able to go with a friend.

Those “long throw” rumours!

First game he went to throw one in, and I was expecting Steve Backley’s javelin; was more like Phil Tufnell.

My first game was 1986, and I’ve never experienced anything like that, even the Bolton game. Insane.
