| News Comment | McKenna Deal Now Set to Be Confirmed Thursday at 20:19:30
All jokes about bingo aside, I disagree with those questioning McKenna's loyalty to the club. When they last reviewed his contract, we had just gotten into the Championship. I'm sure there could be a promotion clause in there. We're now Premier League and we need to revisit his contract. I would not be surprised if Ashton encouraged McKenna to talk to other clubs to see what they could offer so that Town could make an acceptable counteroffer. He needs to be paid his worth and his value has increased significantly in the past year. He wants to be paid fairly and we want to pay him fairly. I don't see this as a loyalty issue. |

In the meantime, for our entertainment, "Announcement bingo". "it is understood" "according to sources" "insiders are reporting" "is now expected" "...understands" "Chelsea are understood" "Brighton are understood" "Man United are understood" "Accrington Stanely are understood " "Chelsea are believed" "emerged as the early favourite" "according to the Sun" "The Daily Mail is reporting" "according to the Evening Standard" "the Manchester Evening News claims" |

For all we know, Ashton has approved of McKenna's people talking to the other clubs so that he can prepare a comparable offer. You never discuss business publicly, as it shows your cards and you lose all negotiating power. We still need to be able to trade with this clubs and get loanee players from them. Burning bridges makes no sense. And as I keep saying, McKenna was spotted in town with his son yesterday during the first half of the FA Cup game. If he was off to Manchester, he would have been at the game. At the very least, he would be home watching it to evaluate his new squad. There was nothing that he needed to do during the game other than say "hey, I'm still here". This was a huge statement from McKenna and he didn't need to say a word. Have faith in the club. They have not done us dirty yet. |

It's crazy how quickly we went from celebrating to turning on each other. I say I think McKenna is staying and I get down voted. Ashton told us to not believe the press as he will talk when he has something to say. McKenna intentionally being seen in Town yesterday says something when he can't be saying something. As much as if he were going to United he would have been at the game. I think he'll be here next season and fans need to stop telling him to go. |

McKenna was photographed in town yesterday during the FA Cup match. I could be wrong, but I doubt if he were going to United he wouldn't be at the game watching his potential players. This feels like a McKenna thing to do. Saying something without saying something. |

It's amazing how fast the euphoria of promotion has started to fade. This 'will he, won't he' reporting is sucking the fun out of the last month. If McKenna leaves, who goes with him? Every day this clicks by is another day we waste preparing for next season. Every time I go online expecting to see the headline that he has left, to the point I'm getting anxiety lol |

TimmyH, I think they are staying out of view and letting everyone else do the talking for them. I think they've got it right. We don't want Chansiri standing dead center of a promotion photo holding the cup with the team like he personally won it. |

Karlosfandangal, that's fair. But it was a wasted slot. Would love to have given Lee one last celebration with us. He certainly put int he shifts when called upon. |

Annoying we dropped him as we were at squad capacity and kept Williams who hasn't kicked a ball since last year and then had stupid legal troubles. Been nice if could have been here until end of the season. |

It's not really an achievement when you consider their payroll versus ours. The fact we have kept up with them the entire season should be prompting questions from their owners about why they are overspending on a squad that barely beat a league one team. Because at our core, we are mostly the same team that were promoted last season and that speaks volumes to the quality and passion of our squad and leadership. |

I did NOT see that coming. 5 from 9 gets us up if Leeds beat Southampton. 3 from 9 if the draw or lose.... Come on, lads... |
