Players are not only technically better in the Premier league they are also better athletes and if we are going to continue with our present tactics of building from the back we are going to need better quality in that area. Of course McKenna might think this is a bit of a risk and alter the tactics slightly. But my guess is he will bring in two if not three defenders. I think Sam Morsy has definitely got the ability to play in the Premier league but needs another midfield player with athleticism beside him. Hirst is a player that is rapidly improving but the demands of the Premier league are high so a striker with proven quality and physicality is needed. It would be great if we could keep Hutchinson for another season as he is improving at a fast pace. Tuanzebe has done an excellent job in the championship but im not convinced of his fitness. Sarmiento has been excellent as an impact player but Premier league might be a bit too much for him physically.
Yippee all very exciting but not if you are one of those who's having to move seats. The club is completely blameless for this and once again it's Sky not caring two hoots about the fans. I just cannot understand all the drastic changes it was perfectly good enough in the championship but i suppose they have to keep all their arm chair subscribers happy.
He was clearly restricted in his running and unable to lengthen his stride. He looks very good in and around the penalty area and seems to have the ability to be in the right place at the right time and his awareness of other players around him is very good. Premier league football has possibly came a bit early for him but you never know what he might be capable of fully fit.
Blues 1 Only that he hasn't played for about 6 months and dosent look likely to that's all just a minor detail. Dispite the operation he is still getting discomfort and if you were an avid reader of TWTD you would have learned this.
After the way he was treated there by the players who gave him no respect at all and was nick named the school teacher by some. Manchester United im afraid are victims of the modern day over paid players who have no intention of listening to any manager. Anyone who takes over their would have to have a major clear out of the big ego brigade and it could take 3 years or more to put right. I think McKenna will go back there but only when the time is right hopefully not for a long time.
I think the club will be setting the bar much higher in terms of player quality than what people are saying on here. We are hardly likely to sign a player who hardly featured in the championship no matter how popular he is with the fans. Hutchinson is the only one of the loan players that i would hold on to if given the chance. One area that needs to be improved significantly is the academy we are hardly producing players that we can get excited about.
Mustn't let sentiment effect our decisions and im sure McKenna will do what's best for the club and sign the quality of players that's required to compete in the Premier league. As much as i luv Sarmiento he is no where near up to Premier league . I think we can learn alot from Burnley's experience in the Premier league that unless youve got top quality players of International standard you are not going to build from the back on a regular basis players are much quicker and stronger at a higher level. As much as it hurts fans they have to accept that players move on from time to time.
Has fallen under the radar a bit but obviously ahead of Baggott in terms of development playing at a much higher level. I think Dozzell is a player that will probably drift from club to club because of his limited all round ability.
Windarse goal is the best because of its rarity Hutchinson's goal is good but they are two a penny these days. Second i would put the headed goal by Latte Lathe don't see many of them either.
A great servant to Ipswich who wouldn't look out of place in any Ipswich team. Jimmy was so passionate about the game and it sometimes got the better of him. I remember at a certain press conference Jim completely lost it. He was also having personal problems off the pitch. It got to the point where the club had no alternative but to part company with him. But dispite all this Jim still loves the club.
Im a huge fan of Sarmiento like many others on here and would love to see him back at Portman road but he is someway off being Premier league standard. Fans never like seeing their favourites depart the club they become attached. Hutchinson in my opinion still hasn't full filled his full potential and it's not beyond possibility we could get him on the cheap for another year. But there's plenty of young players out there we can sign and get attached to and no doubt the club already have iron's in the fire.
His form in the last three or four months is one of the main reasons we've got promoted. He's scored more important goals than any one else. Under McKenna he will get even better and i think Chelsea know this so i expect him to be with us for another season.
