Where are you?
I worked in NZ a lot in my younger days, but not been there for nearly 40 years now! I was mostly in New Plymouth, but also Greymouth, Invercargill and Wellington when not offshore.
I should go back and visit. I guess it's changed. |

Excellent read. Thanks for posting. I often find Monbiot to be a little sanctimonious, but this was well balanced.
One point that he did not make, and I think it might apply here, is that many "serious" conspiracy theorists act like religious zealots, ie you cannot use proof to dissuade them as their belief is not based upon facts anyway, it is their faith. |

I've been to Goodison, but not to any of the new stadiums, so ManC, Spurs, Arse, WetSpam, Brentford etc
Mind you, I've not been to most of the others for over 20 years, and some a lot longer than that, so looking forward to all really. |

As a season ticket holder, I completely agree. We already have our ticket for home games, so we do not need a priority window, but maybe an opportunity to buy an extra ticket before general sale on a couple of occasions would be nice. Like using our joker, but limited to the number of matches it can be used. I appreciate that such a system might not be workable.......
I used to be able to take my grandkids now and again. Now no chance. |

I refer you to my post of August 2nd:
"I think I prefer Hladky to Walton.
Both probably have gaffs in their lockers, but I think Hladky is better with the ball at his feet. I know he nearly messed up in the tournament last week, but that's out of his system now.
We should have no concerns if Walton is out for a week or two. No more than if Walton was in goal anyway." |
