| News Comment | Leicester Thrash Saints to Go Four Points Clear at 23:06:17
GForce is a bit pessimistic. This changes nothing, except Southampton are now out of the race for the top two, which is a good thing. This beating has damaged their goal difference to the extent that Ipswich just need a point from 3 games to kill them off. So let's put them our of our minds. Sure Leeds can win on Friday and then put pressure on Town, but they might not. Either way, it's in our hands just as it was Sunday morning. Beat play off also-rans Hull, and Coventry and it's just a home game against relegated Huddersfield to go. Leeds would much rather be in our position than theirs. They are relying on us to drop points. Them dropping points just makes our lives easier. |
| News Comment | Town Down to Third Following Leeds Win at 23:48:59
Just win 3 games against teams with (probably) nothing to play for. Hull and Coventry , if Norwich win on Saturday, will have realistically zero chance of getting into the play offs and here's hoping Huddersfield are down by the time we play them. In our hands, today changes nothing except the wiggle room! |

Can't win 'em all. But with 4 games left, we kind of need to win 'em all, from this point onward. It's in our hands, thanks to the results around us. Just 4 games, that's it. |
| News Comment | Young Keeper Gray Recalled Due to Slicker Injury at 18:36:10
I think Chelmsford only have 2 games left in their regular league. They are second and no chance of going first so it's probably not going to effect their position, BUT they will have 1 hopefully 2 playoff games. If all goes well they could be in the 5th Tier National League next season. I keep an eye on their progress and they are obviously a good team but do a great turn in losing to crap teams out of nowhere and blowing their chances when they have built up some momentum and looking like they could steal the top spot when their rivals have slipped up. Sounds familiar? hopefully not today! |
| News Comment | Wardley Retains Belts Following Draw at 01:33:00
This was a brave fight, Wardley had a cut in round 3 and battled on. There was blood everywhere, on the ground, on the Ref, on the other fighter. I was surprised he didn't get the lose but he deserved something. Town flags everywhere! |
| News Comment | European Clubs 'Monitoring' Hutchinson at 18:46:42
Its a catch 22 with loan players. Do well and their parent clubs snatch them back and use or sell them. Do crap and we don't get anything out of it. This is exactly what we want from Baggot right? Go to Bristol, do amazing, get experience, come back and be amazing for us. Bristol get an amazing player for a spell, in the same way as we get Hutchinson for a spell.... The best solution is he helps us get promoted, Chelsea agree to sell him to us and we move forward with him as a valuable member of the team. Could happen once they add that Premiership money to the spreadsheet. |
| News Comment | Hutchinson: Important That Us Subs Make an Impact at 05:56:13
BooUrns is world class and when he went off it was a big blow, but this guy is a great replacement, he's a real live wire and like Burns, every time he gets the ball he makes something happen |
| News Comment | Mowbray to Step Away From Birmingham to Undergo Medical Treatment at 19:49:55
Venus's Wikipedia page is a riot, every sentence ends with "...following Tony Mowbray's sacking" This however is not quite as funny, football managers get sacked all the time but no one wants to hear this this. Mowbray has a special place in the hearts of town fans, I recall he leapt like a salmon in Wembley in 2000 to restore our hopes after a poor start |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-2 West Bromwich Albion - Match Report at 17:05:59
It's easier to accept a hard fought draw against the team below us, when we win against QPR and the like and destroy teams like....Maidstone. But right now our form is really really bad and isn't changing. To suggest automatic promotion is getting away from us is silly at this stage. Leeds and Southampton are doing well but to think they will continue for the rest of the season without dropping a point is a bit far fetched. WE however, have just had our lean spell and WE can't afford to drop any more points. Our last two games show we've still got it, just need to turn that into better defending and some goals against these mid table teams coming up. |
| News Comment | McKenna: In the First Half Everything That Could Go Wrong, Did Go Wrong at 03:31:22
When your defense and goalie consistently play Russian roulette, passing it around in their own penalty area, while attacks chase the ball hoping to get a touch, in stead you clearing it and getting it the F away from your goal- you bring this on yourself. Twice they paid, in one half. Anyone could see this approach will give away goals, it already did once in a prior game. I don't know what the hell Mckenna is thinking with the playing style. Trying to pass it until the ball is on the goal line isn't really a winning proposition right now. Try running at the defense, drawing them in, maybe winning a penalty. Eventually passing it back to Hdlaky, turning an attack into an opposition goal isn't a good strategy 8 games- one win. |
