Epsom - 3yo Dash - Due For Luck at 8/1 e/w
Now the reason for this is quite simple. Epsom have had a major issue and have run out of space somewhat for stabling their horses for the Derby day card on Saturday. Therefore, they are going to be limiting the number of runners in some of the races. I’ve a mate who has one in the race and his won’t run now as they’re running 11 runners max. Usually there are 20 runners in this sprint handicap. The antepost market is still priced up as though there will be 20 runners but of course there won’t be.
Our lad is jocked up and is expected to run and is number 11 in the weights so is guaranteed a run. However, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th in the betting right now are currently not getting in. In fact, 8 of the top 11 in the weights are jocked up already so the chances of those high in the betting getting a run is very slim. And you are getting 4 places because of the high number of runners expected previously that now will not happen.
Due For Luck at the moment is 8/1 but when declared tomorrow and there are only 11 in the field, the majority of which are 20/1+ right now, he’s clearly not going to be that price. I’d suggest he will halve in price in fact. |

Anyone been playing? First round of the summer for me on Saturday. Would be absolutely delighted to break 90 in all honesty. Will get down the range Friday night and try to remember how to hit a ball when realistically it’s the putting that kills me every round. |

Couple of comments on page 1 are somewhat eyebrow raising:
‘Is this a joke thread? From an elite manager who essentially joined us from a Champions League club, to one who has never even managed in a top division anywhere? I think not.’
‘It's just a fact, we're a much bigger club than Ipswich, just like Chelsea are a much bigger club than us.’
Brighton are likely a more attractive club right now for sure but I’m not having it that they’re ’a much bigger club’ at all. And to be fair plenty of their fans were quick to say that we are bigger than Brighton. Which we are imo. Thoughts? [Post edited 21 May 1:10]

So I’ve been looking into a career change in recent months. And I’ve decided I would like to be a sports journalist.
However, everyone keeps telling me it’s an industry that is about ‘who you know’ to get a foot into the door. Everywhere I’ve looked seems to want either a journalism degree or prior experience. I do have a degree in sports but not in journalism. And obviously I write my horse racing previews which can be quite analytical etc. I enjoy it and I think I’m alright at it. So how do I get a foot into the door somewhere without the experience required.
If anyone knows anyone or can think of a suggestion, I’m all ears. Thanks in advance folks |

Lot of boycotting. Israel televote landslide victory incoming and the future of Eurovision to be put into huge doubt in the aftermath. Chaos.
They’re 2/1 now to win outright after being 40/1 yesterday lunchtime before the semi final vote in Italy was leaked. The Dutch bloke being likely kicked out for punching one of the Israeli delegation today too for mocking his dead dad adds to the shenanigans.
It’s always political. We all know that. But this is way worse this year. The Israeli singer was booed throughout and yet the crowd noise was muzzled and replaced with fake cheers over the tv which seems to have increased the tensions. |

What will be the games easiest to get tickets for?
This season was the hardest I can remember for sorting tickets and most of the games i did was in other peoples name. Which obviously means next year will be harder.
Obviously midweek and less high profile games will be easier to get tickets for in my own membership number but I’d also imagine games like Wolves would be doable. 3,000 away end I think and it’s far enough that it should be a game anyone that wants to go, can.
Just want to try and build my numbers up in my name. No point doing 10+ away games again in other peoples name because I’ll have the same problem again the season after. |

Looks like an all nighter and then the train at 8:45 to get me to Ipswich nicely in time for a beer and to see the Coach Welcome Blue Action thingy.
In 12 hours, we will know our fate. All season, all decade, virtually all my lifetime. All for the 2 hours between 12:30 and 2:30 today. Absolutely terrifying. |

But you know what? I’d actually love it for the players too. And McKenna and the coaching staff and Ashton. Just watching reactions like Humphreys and Walton every week on Town in 5 - they’re not getting a kick and yet both celebrate every goal, every win just as much as the rest of us. Ashtons tears, McKenna staring silently at the fans after the game taking it all in. It’s just wonderful.
The team spirit and togetherness in this team is absolutely incredible. Genuinely never seen anything like it.
I want it for us. But I want it for them too. A wonderful group of blokes and each and every one of them has restored so much pride in our football club that we could burst. Finish it Saturday lads. |
