I'm presuming in that line up he is an advanced midfielder in a 3 rather than a 10.
Only way Taylor cracks it is if we have a slight formation change in the Prem which I think is possible. Always felt we signed him and yet he didn't fit into the system we play because he is just a different player than we need in the Luongo/Morsy role. |

One of those that if we were in the championship we'd have triggered the option and tried to sell for 200k
But now we are prem, I'm guessing we would have to pay him an increased wage taking him out of the reach of most L1 clubs and we'd rather use those wages elsewhere.
This release news was part of a story about which 3 players Leyton Orient should look to sign.
We turned down low 6 figure bids in January so to release him just 5 months later and miss out on a potential sell on clause as well is not ideal but part of the price of our success coming faster than we expected.

I was sat in the Pioneer upper for that quarter final against Arsenal and there was even a fight broke out when Kiwomya scored started by gooners sat in amongst the old biddies doing their knitting up there.
Never seen anything like it. Well, apart from the Leicester hare-krishnas.
My other abiding memory of that prem stint was our stupidly large nets. Looked real naff. [Post edited 31 May 22:56]

Yep. Getting a 30x return on Leif means we will be able to suck up the occasional misfire we make in the likes of Camara.
We need to limit 'Camaras' in the Prem though. Some clubs seem to be stacked with 10-15m misfits on big wages who get released for nothing.
I reckon the only risks we'll be taking are on frees on someone like Sessignon. We need to be savvy even if we have a potential 100m kitty to spend. |

I expect Ball, Janoi, Camara to be released for sure. Aluko & Hayes gone.
Only question for me from the out of contract players is Jackson & Hladky ( and i'm assuming Tuanzebe/ Walton are a shoe-in we'll take up the options)
McK likes Jackson and he'd be a cheaper option for a 24th/25th squad member who won't play lots than someone new.
Hladky, I would personally keep as our number 1 but if he gets an inkling he is going to be number 2 he may prefer a contract elsewhere. |

Hladky might be released, but it won't be because he isn't good enough with his feet. Weird take.
Waltons option for another year will you presume also be taken up. As long as we don't think his wages will hinder getting any kind of fee. [Post edited 31 May 13:51]

Yep. Couple of weeks ago.
So far there have been 4 links that have come from serious or semi-decent sources as opposed to random twitter accounts with 30 followers.
Miguel Almiron, Zian Flemming, Edo Kayembe & Ryan Sessignon
All with different qualities/circumstances, only one there leaving me a bit 'meh' would be Kayembe. |

Chappers ball retention was a frustrating watch at times last season, but this is the way we play. He often gave it away trying flicks or clever passes, but then on the flip side he works well in our system with his link up with Burns. And the Chaplin first time ball over the top for Burns is a thing of beauty.
Either way they will at the very least be competent squad players. |

On the last point, absolutely.
I find it hard to agree that he didn't have his agent drumming up interest with the types of quotes and leaks we saw. |
