Think there is no chance there, sadly, as his fee will be huge (and suspect they will do what they can to keep him) |

We are all doing the same, tbf..... |

If I was manager of a football club subject to huge media interest about whether I was leaving, or whether there were likely to be vacancies at massive clubs, and nothing had been publicly announced, not sure Id be drawing attention by packing up my desk! Im sure there are some spare post-it notes, pens available from Brighton/United/Chelsea in an emergency if needed. Brighton probably still get a deal on NOBO whiteboards. United are bound to have a commercial partner who can get one of those equilibrium pendulum ball things (what do they call them?!) |

I guess the word "if" has a bit of positivity! |

Wheres the positive bit? The only mention of McKenna is- "Expected for Brighton"..... |

They have some excellent players, but not sure Id be keen on their temperament in our dressing room. I thought Troy Deeney was excellent in calling out that their big players went missing again. |
| Forum Reply | Davis to Newcastle... hopefully not yet at 22:11 26 May 2024
I dont think its any surprise or secret that Newcastle is his boyhood club, probably in the same way that if Luke Woolfenden was asked where he would most like to play, hes likely to say Man United. Id be more surprised if he said hes got no interest in ever playing for his boyhood team, because he only dreams of Ipswich now. It doesnt mean hes going to Newcastle tomorrow. |
| Forum Reply | SSN reporting McKenna representatives met Man utd last week at 21:32 23 May 2024
Think the headline probably over exaggerates that situation to draw attention (not Phil, but Sky). I assume it wouldnt be at all unusual for McKennas agent to contact United (and probably anyone else relevant) and say "I know you havent made any decisions, but just to let you know that the release clause on Keiran is £4m and we would be interested in speaking to you if there was an opportunity etc". And for all we know, United give a standard, thanks for letting us know, appreciate that. McKennas agent then leaks to the press that the representatives have had a meeting, which doesnt actually imply that there was a job discussed, or that United instigated the meeting, which in turn gets the press reporting a "breaking story" and probably helps to put a bit more pressure on Chelsea in turn, to get them to perhaps make an offer etc etc. It doesnt mean he isnt leaving, of course, but its the same as the breaking news that Chelsea are contacting Leicester about speaking to Maresca- they are probably doing that for anyone they are interested in as a formality. And they will no doubt tomorrow break the same news, but for Ipswich and McKenna.... |

Thats my thoughts too. He was really highly rated, did an amazing job at Forest in a really short period of time, they didnt want him to leave but I think accepted that if he didnt get enough results the owner would can him. |
| Forum Reply | Guardian: Brighton pushing to seal deal for McKenna at 21:25 20 May 2024
Or Steve Cooper, who had an excellent reputation at Forest and turned them around immediately. Got eaten up amongst their desire to buy up everyone and everything. Worth saying that people like Graham Potter and Steve Cooper are managers we would have been miles away from a year ago, so we have made massive progress. |

Some digital signs running all along the front of the SAR and SBR stands. And more hand driers in the toilets in West/Pioneer. |

Im guessing its more likely that Gareth will ask him about him. Maybe not for the Euros, but Id be surprised he isnt aware. |
| Forum Reply | Wrexham plans to build a 55k-seater stadium at 21:50 13 May 2024
Think the interesting thing will be how the story plays out if/when they have a season in midtable, or some wrong choices in the transfer market that stall things a bit. |
| Forum Reply | Wrexham plans to build a 55k-seater stadium at 21:49 13 May 2024
Im not even sure it was as calculated as that, seemed more a question of how far they think they could develop the stadium and was a bit of a "who knows?" answer, in that they have other stands they could move on to and could develop up to 55k. I imagine if Mark Ashton was asked that question, he might say something similar. But didnt get the impression there was any actual concrete plan to do any immediate development beyond the stand they are trying to get rebuilt and struggling to get approved/complete. |
| Forum Reply | McKenna first away game - Gillingham 8/1/22 at 21:03 13 May 2024
The Aluko pass into Matt Penney for the third goal was absolutely brilliant. He was a class above that day. Also, remember Edmundson strolling out of defence in the 2nd half at will, had one long range effort well saved and looked like a Championship player cruising through the game. It was forgotten for quite a while how good he was in those first few months under McKenna, until he got that run of games when Burgess was away this year and recovered his reputation in the eyes of many. |
| Forum Reply | Really good podcast from a Leeds supporter at 20:54 13 May 2024
Ive noticed that re: Omari. Talking to people who only follow PL teams, want to focus on a star and pick out Omari, which is obviously in part due to his performances but also due to his status as a player with a big 6 club. And as Ive said to them, its impossible to rule out players from being capable of stepping up when so many of them managed it to such a spectacular extent this season. |
| Forum Reply | Any whispers on the new 24-25 kit? at 20:34 9 May 2024
I thought exactly the same. Umbro have really flogged the retro angle in the last two years, either with a strong link to them in the home/away kit, or by producing a retro shirt itself. They have covered every option from the 90-95 era except that one (and the red away with black pinstripes). That feels deliberate to me. |
