Felt like I needed some psychological closure otherwise I would never return to normality, so attempted to pen something about experiencing Hull, Cov and Huddersfield all within a week. Not sure it particularly worked mind, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Hopefully you will too.
I can't recall too many "they just needed a point to go up and mucked it up" scenarios. But I thought I'd wind you all up by starting a thread on it, after seeing this:
On this day in 2015… 🗓️
Derby County needed just a point on the final day to secure a Play-off place…
A northern away jaunt, a rarity for me these days. Driving up from London via Nottingham to collect A.N. Other...made possible by the 5.30. Nice to tick off another ground and to enjoy the delights of Manchester after (staying over).
As I'd received an email stating it had almost been 5 years since I set it up. Initial period was 5 years. Another 5 now sorted.
No 'woe is me' here, it was the right thing to do and very much needed at the time. But I know there are others on TWTD who've struggled with addiction, and problem gamblers, or people who wanted to take a break, or any other place on that spectrum between harmless fun and wholesale ruin. I thought sharing some nice news might be of use. And if I get a kick of pride out of it for not placing one single bet since I quit? So be it. Happy days.
1. With a TownTV subscription you can watch full match replays…when do these become available? Eg for today, is it tomorrow, or this evening? 2. If ‘travelling’ and buying a match pass, can you start the feed later on, or can you only watch live?
Not free at 3pm today as driving but working out my best way to watch the game if I avoid the score…
An hour to get out and then the M1 was shut, so didn't get home (SE London) until 2am. Still, couldn't sleep for toffee with all the excitement. That's what the Towen can do to a man now.
Complete blind-spot in my world history after the Middle Ages. Can anyone recommend books, articles, or fancy a stab at a succinct-ish summary of the area in modernish times?
