Zamora Linked Again - Ipswich Town News

Town were once again linked with Brighton's Bobby Zamora this morning. Newspapers claim that Town are to make Zamora the most expensive player in Third Division history when they splash out £1.5 million.

A clue to the level of research in this story is the suggestion that if he joins Town Zamora will rekindle a partnership with Marcus Stewart from their Bristol Rovers days. Marcus Stewart left Bristol Rovers in July 1996 when Bobby Zamora would have been 15-years-old. We have a feeling there may not be too much in this one.

Town's south coast scout Steve McCall has certainly watched Zamora, but George Burley has already denied any serious intention towards the Brighton striker. Given the number of clubs in his region it would be a surprise if McCall hadn't watched him.

Today's Do You Remember? star is Neil' Thommo' Thompson. He has sent two of his top Scarborough stars to train with us for a few days, but what do you recall of his Town career? The goals, the references to his previous career as a nappy-salesman, we want it all. Click the link on the Message Board: http://www.twtd.co.uk/messages
