Manchester United mananger Alex Ferguson has again praised George Burley for putting Town where they are today. Reports yesterday suggested that George us almost certain to get the nod as Manager of the Year beating rivals like Ferguson.
The Manchester United manager said in United's official magazine: "For me, though, the best manager of the season has been George Burley at Ipswich. What he's done there has been just phenomenal."
Town have given back the Division One play-off trophy. Town Secretary David Rose handed back the trophy to Jack Taylor of the Nationwide League yesterday.
The trophy has sat in a glass cabinet in the Board Room throughout the season along with miniture versions of the FA and UEFA Cups, international caps from the likes of Mick Mills and lesser trophies and mementoes from European opponents and those closer to home.
