Burchill Returns - Ipswich Town News

Loanee Mark Burchill has returned to Celtic. The striker was brought to Portman Road as a replacement for Marcus Stewart when he was serving his three match ban for his red card against Leeds. Burchill scored one goal, against Bradford, in his two starts. He also made five appearances as sub.

Burchill clearly failed to impress and a permanent move, which was mooted when he joined the Blues, never really looked on the cards. Town manager George Burley said of the Scottish international: "Mark's a promising player but he couldn't get into the first team and has gone back."
