Reason Extends Cambridge Loan - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Jai Reason will extend his loan at Cambridge United into a second month. The 19-year-old, who has impressed since moving to the Abbey Stadium a month ago, will finalise the extension in the next couple of days.

Reason, whose Town deal is up at the end of the season, is enjoying life with the U's and was particularly pleased with Saturday's 2-0 victory over Blue Square Premier leaders Burton Albion: "I'm loving my time here.

"It's a big difference from playing reserve team football to the competitive nature of first team football. It was all about honing techniques there, whereas here it's all about winning and delivering performances to win the game and I felt we did superbly in that [on Saturday].

"The second half in particular we took the game to Burton and didn't let them perform. Any neutral would be hard pressed to pick Burton as the team who are clear at the top of the league.

"We worked so hard for the win and I think from the moment the first goal went in we were the only side who were going to get the three points.

"Credit to the lads, the team spirit here is superb and it was a real team performance. We really didn't let them settle after the break.

"It's nice to reward [the fans] with the win, and with two more games this week, hopefully we can push on and chase down Burton's lead."

Cambridge currently sit second in the table, 11 points behind Burton, who have two games in hand.
