Town are amongst a host of clubs being linked with Pascal Cygan from Lille. The 27-year-old central defender is highly rated in France and is also reported to be attracting attention of a number of other clubs including Rangers and Celtic. Blackburn and Middlesbrough are also thought to have shown an interest.

With John Scales leaving and Tony Mowbray retiring Town may be in the market for a new centre-half. Whether Cygan is a target remains to be seen. However, the £5 million-rated player is certainly highly thought of by his coach Vahid Halilodzic who said halfway through last season: "If the club sell Cygan, they can ask me to pack my bags and look for a job elsewhere as well. I'm glad my players are sought after, but two seasons ago they didn't even want Pascal in the Fourth Division reserve team."

Regardless of Ipswich interest expect the Lille coach's job to be vacant soon.

Town finished fifth in the League table for TV income last season. The Blues received £15.66m of telly cash for last year. First were Manchester United receiving £20.42m.

Today's Do You Remember? star is for Town player and coach Bryan Hamilton. The Northern Irishman was a popular player and coach at Portman Road, however more recently he showed a darker side to his character when he became Norwich manager.
