Coventry Game on Sky - Ipswich Town News

Town's game at Coventry City on the opening day of the season has been chosen for live Sky coverage.

The match, currently scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 8th August, will switch either to a 5.20pm start or move to the Sunday, although Sky won't announce details of their early season live games for another 10 days.

Town and Coventry have been informed of the switch with Sky Blues chairman Ray Ransom welcoming the move: "It's a nice tick in the box for us to get the first live Sky game of the new season.”

If the match is moved to the Sunday, Town's Carling Cup tie at Shrewsbury on the Tuesday could switch to the Wednesday or perhaps even to the week before. The Blues are likely to have a number of players away on international duty during the week following the opening fixture and the club is yet to make a decision on whether to request that the fixture switch to the previous week.
