O\'Dea Withdraws From Irish Squad - Ipswich Town News

Darren O’Dea has been pulled out of the Ireland squad facing Russia and Slovakia in Euro 2012 qualifiers over the next fortnight due to the knee injury he suffered while away with his international side last month.

Earlier today boss Roy Keane revealed that the on-loan Celtic man was a big doubt for Saturday’s game against Leeds and the news of his withdrawal from Irish squad suggests that the 23-year-old is highly unlikely to be involved.

Meanwhile, O’Dea has told a Scottish newspaper that he’s enjoying life at Portman Road: "I feel as much a part of the Ipswich side as anyone — and I’ll give as much as anyone.

"I’m here until January 17th and I am just concentrating on the next game. Moving to Portman Road was too good an opportunity to miss because at my age and at my stage of career I want to play games.”
