Focus No Problem for Makin - Ipswich Town News

Town defender Chris Makin has said that focus will not be a problem for him ahead of Sunday's match with Blackburn Rovers.

The ex-Sunderland player said: "I will not have a problem being focused for the game against Blackburn, I can't speak for the rest of the lads but we know how important this game is for us to put a few things right."

Southampton are unhappy that their game with Town scheduled for next week has been postponed. The game at Dell 2 (or whatever it's called) has been re-scheduled in to accommodate Town's match with Torpdeo Moscow postponed on Wednesday.

Their club secretary said: "We can well understand what they have done and why. Like everyone else we were horrified at the atrocity and send our condolences. We are not being unfeeling in any way but we are not happy that UEFA have ordered Ipswich to play next week so that it does not disrupt their schedule. They have taken the decision so they should sort it out and not just take our date. We are pretty upset. From a practical point of view it gives us a big problem with tickets going on general sale Wednesday morning. We had a lot of fans come down to buy their seats only to find a few hours later that the game was off."

No date has yet been fixed for the game.

No Town Academy players are included in the England U19 squad playing friendlies with Iceland and Russia at the beginning of October. Darrens Bent and Ambrose as well as Matt Bloomfield have all recently been included in squads.

However, summer signing Chris Hogg is included in the U17 squad.

This weekend the Academy sides take on Charlton, the U19s in London and the U17s at home (KO 11am Bent Lane).
