Andrews Talks Continue - Ipswich Town News

Blackburn’s Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews looks set to complete his season-long loan move to Town in the next couple of days. TWTD understands the 30-year-old has already been at Portman Road to talk to manager Paul Jewell with the clubs currently negotiating the terms of the deal.

Andrews has opted to move to the Blues ahead of a number of other interested Championship sides, including Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, having been impressed with what Jewell had to say when they met.

Town and Blackburn were in talks regarding the terms of the loan today with the discussions set to continue on Wednesday. The deal looks likely to be concluded well in time for the Dubliner to line-up for the Blues when they visit Bristol City for the opening game of the season on Saturday.

Andrews is contracted to Blackburn until 2013 but made only three starts and three sub appearances last season and is not in manager Steve Kean’s plans for the season ahead.

Meanwhile, former loanee Rory Fallon has joined Yeovil Town on a short-term deal having left Plymouth at the end of last season.

Ex-Town midfielder David Cawley is on trial back home in Ireland with Dundalk having been released by the Blues at the end of last season.
