Transfer for Baxter - Ipswich Town News
Town have announced that Radio Suffolk commentator Terry Baxter is to join the club in December as Press Manager. Baxter, a lifelong Town fan, has been the regular commentator on Radio Suffolk throughout the last few years and has forged memorable partnerships with the likes of Lee Bracey and now Kevin Beattie.
Baxter said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club that I have supported since I was a boy. The opportunity will be a challenging one, I am sure, but one that I am very much looking forward to."
Town's director of communications and marketing Alesha Gooderham said: "I am thrilled that we have been able to recruit Terry Baxter on to the team. There has been a phenomenal growth in the number of press enquiries, interviews and briefings and these need professional management and attention. Apart from his broadcasting prowess, Terry is experienced in all areas of journalism and will bring new skills to this very important area of our business."
With Baxter leaving it seems logical that former SGR commentator Bryan Knights, who moved to Radio Suffolk in the summer, will take over as their regular commentator.
