Bent Targeted - Ipswich Town News
George Burley has revealed that Darren Bent has already been targeted by a number of clubs keen to get him on loan. However, the Town manager sees Bent as part of his first team squad and will not be letting him go anywhere.
Burley said: "We have had a number of people enquiring about the availability of Darren but we are not interested in letting him out. Some people have compared him to Jermain Defoe who was loaned out by West Ham and did tremendously well, but he is a year older that Darren."
Bent has scored seven goals in seven reserve games this season and made his first team debut in the away UEFA Cup game against Helsingborg. Despite his age he trains with the first team and many of the other players see him as someone who can go right to the very top of the game.
