Play-Off for Reserves? - Ipswich Town News
Reports today claim Town are keen to arrange a play-off between their reserve side and FA Premier League (North) winners Manchester United. The Blues won their league on Wednesday night when they beat Derby 2-1.
One of the scorers in that game, Darren Ambrose, says he is keen to face the United second string: "I just wish we could play the northern winners Manchester United so we could see who is the best reserve team in the country. What a game that would be."
Reserve captain Justin Miller praised manager Dale Roberts who has seen his side to the title despite being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma: "Dale has always been there for us, no matter what. He has been a tremendous inspiration to us all."
Miller forced Roberts to collect to the trophy on Wednesday night embarrassing the coach: "I was a bit embarrassed to go up because it was their night, it is about them."
