Karic Only Winner - Ipswich Town News
Amir Karic was the only Town player in international action over the weekend to finish on the winning side. Matt Holland's Irish had lost earlier in the afternoon while Hermann Hreidarsson's Iceland were also beaten.
Karic played the full 90 minutes as Slovenia got their European Championships campaign off to a fine start, winning 3-0 at home to Malta, the goals coming from Debono (OG), Silijak and Cimirotic.
Hreidarsson's Icelandic side were beaten 2-0 at home by Hungary, with Zsolt Löw and Pál Dárdai scoring the goals.
