Loan signing Alan Mahon has been handed the Town number 25 shirt. Mahon signed for the Blues yesterday and trained for the first time this morning.
The 25-year-old has caught up with Georges Santos and John McGreal who were with him in his time at Tranmere Rovers.
The Blackburn player says he is pleased to move to Portman Road: ""Thank God Joe Royle came in for me. Ipswich are a Premiership club and have one of the best managers in the business in Joe Royle. The man's a legend.
"I had no qualms about moving at all, none whatsoever. Towards the end of last season I had a good spell at Cardiff on loan. But if Ipswich had come in then there would have been no contest. It would have been Ipswich for me.
"It's been frustrating to be in the reserves at Blackburn and I look forward to my new challenge. I'm back on the big football stage again and can't wait to start."
Mahon impressed for Blackburn's reserves last week against Leeds at Morecambe's Christie Park. A TWTD Morecambe contact described his performance as "scintillating".
