Royle Continues Search - Ipswich Town News

Blackburn striker Matt Jansen is the latest player claimed to be Joe Royle's loan target. However, TWTD understands that contrary to a newspaper report, the former Crystal Palace man is not in the Town manager's plans.

Royle recently had a loan bid for Reading's Shaun Goater turned down and he is keen to add an out and out goalscorer to his ranks.

Jansen, more in the creative mould, doesn't really fit into that category.

Royle has kept his cards close to his chest while he has sought a frontman but it is clear his targets are Premiership players.

Few available names immediately spring to mind, although we have heard a rumour that Arsenal youngster David Bentley could well be on Royle's short-list.

The Town manager is continuing his search this week with the end of the Premiership transfer window, 5pm this evening, possibly having some bearing on whether or not he gets his man.
