DeVos to Quit Canada? - Ipswich Town News

Jason DeVos is contemplating quitting the international stage after Canada failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. It's always been his ambition to play for his country in the finals since he was a boy so he'll have to do some soul-searching if he does decide to quit.

He gained 48 caps while playing for his country and scored four goals but by the time the next finals take place he may be considered too old.

"I will be 36 by the time the next World Cup comes along," he told the club site, "and at that age, it's very unlikely that I will be playing international football.

"So I have some big decisions to make about my future with Canada. I will sit down with my family and discuss the situation and also speak to Frank Yallop.

"It's not something I will rush in to and I will give it careful thought but it's fair to say that I am considering my career at international level."

He has already stated that he'll not play for Canada in their last qualifying match against Guatemala.
