Keeper Kelvin Davis will remain on the sidelines when Preston come to Portman Road on Saturday. Lewis Price will continue in his place against the Lancastrians.

Third choice stopper Shane Supple is likely to return to the bench after his toe injury was shown not to be a break.

Supple played the full 90 minutes as the reserves drew 0-0 with Southampton, earning praise from manager Joe Royle along with young striker Darryl Knights: "Shane Supple and Darryl Knights particularly impressed, and the latter is a clever player who could well make a big impact when he reaches his full potential."

Royle rested skipper Jim Magilton at Watford last weekend as he switched to 4-3-3 and will have to decide whether to recall his influential captain.
