QPR's Marc Bircham says he knows nothing about a weekend tabloid report linking him with a move to the Blues. The unlikely story claimed the cash-strapped Blues had offered £400,000 for the splotchy-haired midfielder.
Bircham says the story was news to him: "It's not something I know about and I really have no idea how much truth there is to it.
"There hasn't been any formal approach to me and until the day arrives when my club comes to me and says someone has made an enquiry there's not a lot you can say about it."
Town are looking to strengthen at the back and not midfield and manager Joe Royle hasn't the funds available to spend money on fees.
The weekend reports regarding a mystery investor at Portman Road on Saturday appear similarly lacking in veracity. A couple of local media sources were tipped off that a potential backer would be at Saturday's game but it seems to have been a prank.
