Wow wow wow! You just can't write it, can you! Did not see that coming for a lot of the game. Even when down to ten Southampton were still dangerous but we just won't give up. That feels like a big one! We've had a lot of late winners this season but that one might just be the best.

What a way to bounce back after last week! Best performance for a long time. Still no back-to-back defeats under McKenna and a strong message to the others that we don’t believe we are out of this yet. Every single player was on it today, impossible to choose a man of the match but I thought that Jackson, Burgess, Luongo and Hutchinson in particular were outstanding. Well done all.

Just incredible! The mentality and fighting spirit of this team just continues to astonish me. Our substitutions help change the game again. A lot of teams would have dropped their heads after the missed penalty but not us. The effort this group of players gives us is very special.

Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report

5 wins in a row. Leicester and Leeds drop points. Lots of teams struggle to get points at Plymouth and we go and do it without Burns and Broadhead, in rainy and windy conditions, and even when we weren't playing our best. Shame Southampton scored late but all in all you couldn't ask for much more from. Proud of the guys today. Well done Town.

We were superb. Birmingham rarely threatened and it always felt like we would be the ones to come out on top. Chaplain and Burns were so in tune before the latter got injured, it's like they can read each others minds. Omari man of the match (if only he was ours!), and special mention for Tuanzebe who probably would have liked to play more recently but has come in and played his best game in a town shirt to date.

That feels like a big result! Love how passionate Chaplin was after his goal, it really feels like he is town through and through. Really pleased for Jackson too and also shout out to Fridge who I thought had an excellent game. The players will take a lot of confidence from this one. Roll on Leicester!

Ipswich Town 3-2 Plymouth Argyle - Match Report

Amazing! I knew this would be a difficult game and so it proved. Hladky man of the match by a country mile! At least three times I thought they had certain goals only for him to come up with top class saves. Any debate of goalkeeper is now surely put to bed if it hadn’t been already. Edmundson did superb, though I do wonder if he was brought in to stop exactly what Whittaker cutting inside like he did (being right-footed as opposed to Burgess), but what a strike. So happy for Hirst and Marcus to get their goals, they each deserve them for their recent performances. Clearly made it much harder for ourselves yet again than it needed to be at the end there. We really need to work on that, though with two games in four days I guess it’s somewhat understandable. Plymouth probably the best team to play against us so far, Leeds aside. My heart needs a rest now!

A very important win to start off this block of games between international breaks, especially considering how long it had been since our last match and it was unsurprising that we were team under pressure at the end. Our defending was excellent though and a clean sheet under those circumstances, away from home on a Wednesday night having not played in 18 days, is particularly pleasing.
