So…
at 10:55 7 May 2024

The way to look at is not about how many will we bring in but how many do we need to replace. We have 8 players who will almost certainly not be here next season (Aluko, Ladapo, Ball, Williams, Travis, Jackson, Donacian, Moore). So there will surely be 7 or 8 incoming at minimum, with possibly more depending on what happens with Hutch, Sarmiento, Walton, Harness, Humphries.

Dropping Woolfenden a huge and brilliant call (n/t)
at 15:18 1 May 2024

Not only was it tactically brilliant, but it just again demonstrates how amazing McKenna’s man management skills are. I loved his post-match comment on it:

“It’s important that I’m consistent with the players if I’m saying I trust them all and we have to stick to what we’ve done and what we’ve done well. It’s important that we do that even at the end of busy seasons and I trust everyone in that dressing room to contribute, and I knew George would come in tonight and do a good job, and he certainly did that.”

Absolutely this. All the substitutions were key but he was immense.

In footballing terms £105m isn't huge.
at 09:45 23 Mar 2024

Also worth noting that it is ‘up to’ £105m, with ‘up to’ being the key part there. So a chunk of that money seems contingent on other factors, like say promotion, and so as it stands they have invested less for that 40%.

McKenna just now interviewed on Town TV
at 17:36 2 Mar 2024

I'm glad McKenna singled him out a bit because I thought he was excellent and a big reason that we saw that game out as comfortably as we did. He must be disappointed not to be playing more and yet he is still giving 100% when he comes on, even when it's just to help us retain the ball.

Who got the captain's armband when Morsy came off?
at 09:23 24 Dec 2023

Missed who took it when Morsy was subbed, and just wondered if it gave a hint as to who might be captain when he is eventually suspended.

Hutchison, Taylor, Ball and Axel to start…
at 09:27 1 Nov 2023

I actually like the idea of a Tuanzebe-Baggott central pairing, but that seems unlikely and I suspect it will be Burgess in there.

Looking forward to seeing how Taylor and Walton perform tonight in particular. Will be good to see JD back as well.

Davis assists relative to last season and the championship record
at 14:13 16 Oct 2023

Davis has got 5 assists in the 10 games he has played so far this season (1 v Sunderland, 1 v Sheffield Wednesday, 2 v Hull, 1 v Preston). That is an assist every other game. And he could have been on more, considering his cross back to Williams at Huddersfield seems to have not been counted as an assist. For comparison, last season he got an incredible 14 assists, yet in our first 11 games he only had 2. That's 3 less than he has at the same stage now, despite us playing higher opposition.

Last year, Davis and Chaplin were joint 2nd for Assist to Goal Scorer in the whole season with 4. This season, after only 11 games, they already have 3.

I believe the record for most assists in the Championship is 19, which Harry Wilson achieved recently for Fulham in 21/22. He got 4 assists in the first 10 games that he played that season. Leif currently has 1 more in the same number of appearances. And although Leif has missed 1 of our 11 games so far, Wilson missed 3 at beginning of the 21/22 season, so by the time he had played 10 games (like Leif has), Fulham had already played 13. That means that, after 10 appearances each, Leif not only has 1 more assist than what Harry Wilson had, but he also has 2 games in hand.

In short, Wilson had 4 assists in Fulham's first 13 games that season. Leif has 5 assists in our first 11.

Hladky's involvement in the goals we have scored
at 09:42 6 Oct 2023

I was interested in how many goals we have scored where Hladky has played a part in the build up by making a key pass or passing out when under pressure from the opposition.

Stoke (2nd goal)
Hladky pressed by opposition player, 6 passes later: goal.

Sheffield Wednesday
Hladky pressed by opposition player, 4 passes later: goal.

Blackburn (2nd goal)
Wolfie comes to take the ball off of Hladky but Hladky sees Clarke in space and plays a quick pass to him instead, 3 passes later: goal.

Wolves (1st goal)
Hladky rushes high up the pitch to clear a ball to Harness, 4 passes later: goal.

Hull (2nd goal)
Hladky pressed by 2 opposition players, 6 passes later: goal.

Hull (3rd goal)
Hladky on a freekick, sees Hirst, 2 passes later: goal.

That is at least 6 occasions I can think of where he has made a key pass or pass under pressure which has then resulted in us scoring a goal a few seconds later. In all the league games and one cup game Hladky has played in so far, we have scored 24 goals. That means that he has had a key involvement in 1/4 of our goals. And that doesn't even include any other goals we have scored by playing out from the back (such as the 20 passes leading to Taylor's goal against Wolves, of which Hladky had 2).

Anyway, I just found that interesting.
