Enough with the Leeds stuff
at 13:47 6 May 2024

Surely we are all temporary Leeds fans now anyway?

PS: Leicester actually officially cheated to get promoted. If you're going to go after anyone, make it them

This 15 years thing
at 11:40 6 May 2024

Wandering into the Lower North on Saturday, heard the "15 years, who give a f.." song for the first time, very good.

And then I started thinking about how the number 15 was arrived at, and the overall desperation and tinpot nature of it.

They're counting back to 2009. That'll be the season we helped kick them through the trapdoor into League One, where they spent a season while we were in the Championship - so we didn't play each other.
Then there are their yo-yo years when they were in the Prem and we were in the Champ. Then there are also the years we were in League One and they were in the Prem or Champ, so we never played them, but those seasons still count apparently.

A mate of mine spoke to a Norwich fan he works with yesterday, and asked him if this season will be added to the list, even if Norwich fail in the play offs. Yes, he said, because we still didn't beat them.

So let's understand that fully. If we go up, earning £100m plus in the process, with the most talented and highly-rated young manager in the country, plans afoot to expand the stadium, an average crowd of 29,000 and a waiting list for season tickets, ambitious, wealthy owners and our academy poised to move from Cat Two to Cat One, and they stay down as the parachute money runs out and their best players get cherry-picked by other clubs, it's still part of their era of being number one.

Am I missing something or is that truly, truly desperate.

Anyone else at the League Cup semi-final at St Andrew's?
at 19:39 2 May 2024

A tasty evening, multiple pitch invasions, coins being thrown at us all night, Brum fans coming to the front of the away end offering fights.

It's sold out for the visit of Norwich and I can't help but think they need to get their players off the pitch pretty quick if they send Birmingham down. Something in the water there, a large feral element to the support base.

Williams back for Blackburn? Even if not, will be nice to have a two week break for players like Massimo who have looked leggy recently.

Fill the f**king place on Tuesday
at 18:35 2 Mar 2024

I know the kids have to get up for school, I know for some it's a long midweek journey, but this team and manager have earned us making a few sacrifices.

PS: I appreciate we do fill the place most weeks and there are only a few pockets of tickets left for Bristol City, but the point stands.

Hirst injury layoff
at 12:28 19 Jan 2024

Just speculating, why do we think Hirst will be out for most of the rest of the season? I tore my hamstring around about 2015 and it healed over about seven weeks. He injured himself on Boxing Day, but the chat is that he might be back in April. Why so long?

There was always a danger..
at 10:30 29 Dec 2023

...that our results in the calendar year of 2023 would breed a bit of complacency and entitlement among some fans. It's just natural and we shouldn't be surprised.

But tonight the team needs everyone to get off their seats and get behind them. We need to win games like this to keep Saints and Leeds at bay, and we go into it without Morsy and Hirst and maybe others.

Ladapo and Jackson may not be everyone's first choice but they are the ones who will have to step up until Hirst is back and/or replacements come in. I didn't like some of the mutterings about Jackson from people around me in the SBR v Leicester. I'm surprised he's still here but McKenna has earned the right to make decisions based on what he sees in training.

So forget your own personal preferences and make some noise tonight, even when things aren't going well. We built a nice head of steam in the last 20 minutes v Leicester and the crowd played a part in that.

Actually thought it was pretty good in the second half. But what would help is SAR stand joining in now and then. If we get a corner down that end it's OK to have a sing. You can do it, we all remember the Exeter game

For Mick Dennis
at 13:25 20 Dec 2023

With apologies to Sheeran

I found a short cut for me
Delia just dive right in, on the back seat
Constantine Road looking good today
There's only a couple of thousand Town fans in the way

You were a kid when you switched to City
No more Rosettes from ITFC
But I won't endanger you this time

So Delia I'll drive us slow
This short cut's the best I know
No-one will notice my yellow tie

Baby I, driving through the smoke
Please try not to choke
If anyone's in the road
I'll nudge them with my front bumper

When you said this was a mess
I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it
Delia maybe you'd like to drive next time.

Mick Dennis/Delia etc
at 16:33 18 Dec 2023

Mick Dennis framed his Twitter take on the non-incident with her car as being out of concern for two frail elderly people.

Now it has been reported they were offered the chance to completely avoid the coach welcome and travel in behind the Norwich bus, and that Norwich City were well aware of the number of Town fans who would be on that approach to the stadium will he - full of zeal to protect the elderly - turn his sights on whoever at Norwich or in the police let them go down that road.

Or will he be silent as a church mouse because that wouldn't put Ipswich in a bad light.
