| Forum Thread | Pub in Budapest to watch the game tonight ? at 13:31 27 Apr 2024
Jack Doyle's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Budapest, Pilvax köz 1-3, 1052 Hungary Came up with above when I did an online search for who's showing the game but it was still closed when I walked past it earlier. Don't forget that kick off will be nine o'clock here, don't want you turning up an hour early and then spending an hour in the pub wondering what you are going to do... |
| Forum Thread | If Town were beating Nodge 20-0 and they had a young keeper in goal at 13:37 16 Apr 2024
Would you want to see our team ease up for the sake of the lad's sanity ? Question stimulated by reading this story on the BBC website just now: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68761702 'On top of that, before qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup, Fifa stipulated that only players with an American passport would be allowed to represent the Pacific Island nation. Out of a squad of 20 players, Salapu was the only one who was eligible..."We had to find anyone in two weeks," he explains. "We ended up selecting kids from high school." With three 15-year-olds in their side and an average age of just 18, 20-year-old Salapu was a relative veteran... the team of novices got off to a bad start in their qualifying campaign, following up a 13-0 loss to Fiji with an 8-0 loss to Samoa. When they lost by a meagre 5-0 to Tonga in their third group game, it must have felt like a relative success...If he were coaching Australia that day, he says he would have told his team to "keep possession until the game is over" when they had scored 20 times.' |

| Forum Thread | Getting away from our draw sequence for a moment - Tete Yengi sending off at 22:32 13 Apr 2024
Not brilliant from our ex.player, reacted badly to being subbed by lashing out at the turf, bottom of the stand as well maybe, with a wild kick. Had already been booked and while he was settling down with the subs and being told off by David Martindale the ref came over and gave him a second yellow. And then he took his time leaving the subs area and walking down the tunnel...Not a McKenna type of player. Elsewhere Ndaba was a late sub for Kilmarnock, he does seem to be a little out of favour, 'subbed not rotated', for the last few games. |
| Forum Thread | I think we lost some of our bite when Jackson was subbed. at 22:16 10 Apr 2024
If Omari had been subbed at the same time it would have been an even weaker second half. But to put so much weight on those young shoulders is a bit much as well. Not that I blame McKenna, I think our success this season is also the cause of out problems, it has been draining for many of our players. |
