Bookies tend to know about as much about 'next manager' markets as you and I. Their odds are dictated by who's having money put on them, rather than them knowing who's going to get the job. Panic ye not. |

WBA for me too. Arguably the weakest out of Leeds/Soton/WBA, and I wouldn't be surprised if either of the former two could be half-decent if they go up. Similarly, there are players from Leeds/Soton that I'd hope might be on our radar, whereas I've not come across anyone similar at West Brom. |

I remember reading somewhere recently that deals are only really there to be had these days if you take out finance. If you want to be sneaky about it, suggest that you'll take the car on finance and encourage them to sweeten the deal for you. Once you've bled them dry and signed the paperwork, exercise your 14-day right to cancel the finance agreement, and pay the balance off in full. |

It's such an unbelievably faithful crossover, there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Some of the attention to detail and canon is crazy. |

I'm sure I read somewhere that their one-year stay only entitles them to two years of payments. |

I think they're now at a similar stage to the one at which they sold Maddison last time. They've got no more payments, but have a few valuable assets which they can liquidate to buy themselves one final throw of the dice. |

From a potential targets point of view, I think there are fewer players at WBA we might take an interest in, than at Soton. Also perhaps the weakest of Leeds/WBA/Soton. As for tonight, I'd rather Leeds just to avoid the risk of that lot having a flukey day at Wembley. |

Leeds tonight, please. West Brom tomorrow and in the final. [Post edited 16 May 20:01]

I've thought similar about Sam over the last week or so. Given that alcohol plays such a massive role in celebrations in the western world, I wouldn't be surprised if the celebrations have been a bit of a strange environment for him given the amount of alcohol being consumed, and with it having almost been the primary focus at times. It was good to see that there was a batch of non-alcoholic beer in the changing rooms, though. Not that it comes as any sort of surprise, given how well the club is run these days. |

I assume that can be translated as: "We're happy that this deduction won't have a material impact upon our ability to stay up this season, so we've decided to save our money and avoid the risk of a further deduction by withdrawing our appeal."? |
| Forum Reply | Hladky Contract at 14:28 10 May 2024
Thanks Kropotkin, that's an interesting insight. I did notice that the big PL handbook that's been shared a few times recently contains a standard form of contract for players. Could a part of it possibly have been a case of not necessarily knowing which standard form would need to be used to form the base of the contract? Or is it possible to draft/sign some sort of conditional contract, the basic content of which depends upon the league in which the club is playing? |

I'd hope (maybe those with better knowledge of such things can add more detail?) that their contracts have been sufficiently well-drafted that a PL wage uplift would be contingent on certain criteria having been met (appearances, 25-man squad inclusion etc.,) rather than just being a case of 'you're contracted to the club, so here's a 100% wage increase'. I'd have thought it would have made it exceptionally difficult to shift those players who won't be joining us on the next stage of our journey, otherwise. |

So, based on your better knowledge of such things, is this potentially a case of VH being happy with the terms on offer, but not having his agent's 'authority' to sign the contract? |
| Forum Reply | Hladky Contract at 14:06 10 May 2024
No ITK knowledge, but my reading between the lines of the interview the other month which said that 99% of it was all ironed out and he was looking forward to signing was that, potentially, there might be some disagreement over squad status in the Premier League. I fully expect us to bring in a new starting GK this summer, and perhaps Hladky and his camp aren't necessarily satisfied with him being bumped down the pecking order. No doubt there are potentially hundreds of reasons, but this feels like the most likely to me. |
| Forum Reply | Ed holding good on his promise to take the players out this evening…. at 07:08 9 May 2024
Chinny's Sports Club in Halesworth apparently. My sister saw some Town players heading in early in the evening, and there was fairly tight security present, not even letting anyone into the car park. Would make sense if they wanted to go for a less obvious venue. |
