What an impact that young man has had on our season. He would flourish for us in the prem. Not certain, but hopeful we can get him back. |

I proper blubbed at that. Great video. My eldest son is suffering his second bad bought of depression and is back with us from uni as we try and support him through it. Lots of hugs, time, listening, sorting things out that he can’t cope with at the moment. Think we can see the dark cloud just starting to lift. And my youngest son is autistic and expressed suicidal thoughts last summer, as he suffers from extreme anxiety, so he couldn’t cope with the thought of leaving secondary school and going to a new college. However, that specialist college has almost literally been a life saver for him and has been instrumental in building him into the young man that we always thought he could be. But………the college has had their funding withdrawn so won’t exist after the summer. We now see a young man slowly slipping back and insidious anxiety drip, drip, dripping into his head again, as we have no idea what we will do. Zero support from anyone. My wife held on the phone for 2.5 hours last week to try and speak to a special needs person at the council, and the call eventually just cut off. It’s not that we feel cut adrift from the system, there is no system in the first place, this government has hollowed out the support systems that used to be in place. Anyway, didn’t mean to bang on as I just have, just came out. Both my sons are ITFC fans (despite us living a long way away), one is a season ticket holder with me, and the lift our promotion has given them, and me, is huge. Amazing what your football team can do for you!! [Post edited 11 May 9:56]

Can’t see Sammy putting up with any of that nonsense next season. |

Cos we can’t get three promotions in a row. Seriously, I’m a 55 year old man, I cried at about 88 minutes yesterday, realising it was going to happen. We’ve been through so much sh1t over the past 20 years, and I’ve had so many messages from friends, family, long lost friends, saying how chuffed they are. People seem genuinely happy that we have gone up. I’ve had messages from Newcastle fans, Chelsea fans, arsenal fans, Tottenham fans, and all of them have been complimentary and wishing us well. I’ve been going to Portman Road since 1975, and I will remember yesterday until I pop off. What a club, what a team of incredible human beings we have had play for us (Kieran, you are up there with Alf, Bobby and George) and all you lot, the fans, you happy, wonderful, friendly, loud, happy, generous, totally unforgettable bunch. I feel so proud of you. Ok, gonna stop, getting dusty again as I type……….. |

Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.............. This does keep popping into my mind to be fair. But surely the players and coaches have learnt from that experience? And that was the single biggest day of that clubs life, with 5k fans there and something (a massive something) to play for. Still keeps popping into my head though! |

Bizarrely, that’s actually a better record than I was expecting. Sh1t, something else to feed my wobble thoughts……… |

Should have held it, really. And immediately started an attack that led to a goal. Apart from that, it was ok. |

Hey, I know, we should have a 5 a side knockabout before a game. Get all us old, used to be decent, could have made it you know, now got dodgy knees TWTD forum dwellers to have a run about. Hire a pitch, turn up, pick teams, off we go!! |

Played for Bury St Edmunds reserves at my height in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Was a decent level back then and used to get a little bit of cash in the pocket for expenses. The first team had some very decent footballers: some that were obviously extremely talented and had been with various clubs, but for whatever reason dropped down the leagues. When I trained with the first team lads it made me realise that I wasn’t the great footballer I thought I was. I worked hard, but didn’t have the talent. Used to p1ss me off seeing how good some of the players were, but their attitudes stank. I used to wish I could have some of their talent to go with my lungs! Then I discovered raves, drugs, clubs……and the rest is history (that history being me minus football, but having the best days of my life!!). I still play 5 a side despite being in my mid fifties and enjoy it. |

Opposition teams have figured us out as the season has gone on. Plus we are probably slightly more willing to cross it into the box looking for Big Kiefs noggin. |

I still have my unused ticket for Nirvana's gig at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre, which was to take place on 30/03/94. He had gone back to the US after overdosing in Italy (I think) a few weeks before. Held on to the ticket as initially thought it would be rescheduled for later in the year. Then got the news. Nevermind meant a lot to me at the time. Sometimes albums come along and they make this connection with you that is impossible to fully explain. They just come along and become your inseparable friend for a while. Nevermind was one of those. RIP Kurt. |

We have a tough run in: 4 of our last games against teams in the top 10, with 3 of those away (and I can’t see us getting much out of the scummers, as they have the luck over us) and our final game against a team possibly scrapping for their lives. But, but, but, we keep proving people wrong. And I do think that Leicester and Leeds have that added pressure of expectation on them. And the booing was completely for the ref. |

He is very different to Moore, in that his control under pressure is currently not great, so he just couldn’t seem to get the ball to stick with his back to goal, so we lose that outlet. But he has got an engine on him and you can see that he is slowly being moulded into how KM wants his front man to play. Good pace to him. I think he is still very raw, but he’ll get better, and his energy definitely contributed to the crowd being lifted. |

I’m in the SAR upper, and it is usually relatively reserved in that stand. My god, when that third one went in there were people falling over seats, hugging strangers, screaming like their heads were about to explode……..wonderful, beautiful Portman Road! I was celebrating so hard I went all light headed! A man my age should really behave better…..actually, fvck it, that was magical and I’d do it all again! What a team we have. All the years of dross and decay, and now this! |
