Naylor Returns - Ipswich Town News
Town striker Richard Naylor has returned to Portman Road early after loan side Barnsley were consigned to the Second Division on Saturday. Naylor was due to stay for the final game of the season against Wimbledon on Sunday but Barnsley have decided he is no longer required.
A spokesperson for the Tykes said: "Bearing in mind the current circumstances, it was decided he should return to Ipswich."
Naylor made eight appearances for the Oakwell club but failed to score and had hoped a permanent move was on the cards. However, once Second Division football was confirmed he was less keen and in any case Barnsley made it clear that they would be unable to afford him as a Second Division club.
Veteran defender Steve Chettle has also left the South Yorkshire club.
