Mowbray on Moore Approach - Ipswich Town News

Town caretaker-manager Tony Mowbray says he is unconcerned by reports that Ronnie Moore is being targeted by Town. The Rotherham boss says he want to talk to Town while the Millers say the Blues have made an approach, something denied by David Sheepshanks.

Mowbray says he is keeping abreast of the situation and reiterated that he wants to be considered in the running for the job permanently: "I'm speaking to the chairman on a daily basis from now on and I've told him I'd like to be part of the interview process.

"However, I haven't discussed the interview timescale with the chairman. My situation today is no different from when I spoke to him the other night. I'm caretaker-manager and will continue to do that role.

"I've worked with the players and have an attachment and friendship with them. I'll work hard here until I'm told not to.

"But no-one's got a divine right to stay at one club and if Ronnie Moore comes in, I'll wish him all the best. I could only tell him bright things about this football club.

"Football management is where I want my career to go and if not here, I'll be putting my hat into ring for jobs around the country."

Moore is thought to be likely to bring his Rotherham assistant John Breckin with him if he moves to Town. Moore, who joined Rotherham as manager in 1997, says he will speak to his chairman about being allowed to talk to Town.
