New Role for Milts - Ipswich Town News

Former Town midfielder and ex-TWTD columnist Simon Milton has been appointed to a full-time role with Town's Academy. Milton has been employed two days a week by the club's youth set-up as Academy co-ordinator but from June 1st will become Town's Academy sponsorship manager.

The 1995/96 Player of the Year says he is looking forward to his new position: "I joined this club as a player in 1987 and played for 11 years. Since retiring in 1998 I have worked for the Academy for the last six.

"I am as excited about this new role as I was about joining as a player many years ago. The opportunity to work for the club again full-time within the Academy is one I am looking forward to immensely.

"I will be actively seeking sponsorship from local companies who may want to play a part in the development of the next Darren Bent or Dean Bowditch.”

As well as the main sponsors of the Academy sides — this season TownTelecom and the EADT — there are a number of other sponsorship opportunities for companies and individuals to help financially support the club's youngsters, including scholar sponsors and team sponsors, while the club is offering the opportunity to become a ‘friend of the Academy'. Sponsorship opportunities with the club start from £150.
