Is there literally anything this man can do that won't somehow be used as ammo to smear him?

This is even more stupid than Milliband not being able to eat a bacon sandwich (which, may I add, the same newspaper that ran that story hailed Cameron a hero for eating a hotdog with a knife and fork like a f*cking weirdo at a BBQ).

In fairness its a General Election campaign, all sorts of things will be thrown around but the various sides trying to gain political advantages.

JC does not help himself to the masses. He is very popular with his core voters, but to the rest of the country he is a bit of an enigma. A man who clearly has very strong principles, which you can respect him for, however a lot of what he says is not inline with the way the majority of the country (even his own party!) think. Not pushing the button is very credible and deserves some respect, however most want a leader who will make the difficult decisions beyond what they believe themselves. The country is bigger than one person.

I dont think he is a bad man, hes strong in his believes, they just dont match the country on a whole.

Genuinely makes me like him more. He actually cares about the people there and they aren't just a prop for a propaganda advert.

Too honest and too principled to be a success at the top end of politics. Too many working people on lower incomes have fallen for the BS. They can't vote for Corbyn but most can't explain why.

When Corbyn is replaced by someone we know is Labour because he's the one wearing the red tie and all of the two party cheerleaders on here are happy I might not bother voting.

But please be aware of this "principled" man's history with some of the world's most unpleasant people.

If after you have read the article from start to finish and still feel comfortable putting your backing behind him then that is your choice.

'Too many working people on lower incomes have fallen for the BS.'

don't be so disrespectful and arrogant. they haven't fallen for anything - they've formed their own view of him.

people form their view of politicians on the basis of many varied things, big and small. it comes down to - do I trust him / her? does he / she share my values? corbyn has failed to convince most labour voters on those things. it isn't BS.

Are you genuinely scared to read the full article because it may shatter any illusions you have?

It's true from my experience.

I'm not saying there aren't genuine reasons to dislike him or to no vote for Labour just that many people don't seem to be able to say why they won't and it soon becomes clear it's because they think they have to dislike him.

and you underestimate the intelligence of voters. one of the key things in politics is to listen to people. labour needs to hear what they are saying about corbyn and not dismiss them as having fallen for bullsh*t.

it took the labour party the second half of the 1980s to learn that basic truth last time - perhaps it will happen quicker now?

I work in Islington and he is hugely popular amongst his constituents, who aren't the champagne socialists and intellectuals that a lot of people seem to think. One of the things that irks me about the coverage of him is that Islington is portrayed as some kind of bastion of the wealthy. Whilst there are undoubtedly some very wealthy people living in the borough (you'd have to be to afford to buy a property here nowadays), there are quite high levels of poverty and one of the highest proportion of people living in social housing (something like 40%).

I don't underestimate the intelligence of the electorate at all. However, I think it's obvious that a large number of these voters will quite understandably draw their conclusions through the prism of the media they read. To suggest otherwise is to be deliberately obtuse or simply wrong.

I think Corbyn is a disaster for Labour and very bad for the country as a whole but let's not pretend that people aren't influenced by the largely right wing press, the referendum proved that.

I'm not blind to anything. I have been critical of our relationship with Saudi Arabia

and her rhetoric on immigration

However, I don't think either bear comparison with the rap sheet in the article I linked.
