On the subject of Jose the Super Fan 13:16 - Mar 5 with 2534 views | FinidiCentenary | What's the most super fan thing you've ever done to get to a Town game? Mine would be a toss up between paying an extra £200 at fairly late notice to move my holiday by two days so I could get back in time not to miss a re-arranged Tuesday night game with Tranmere (that was re-arranged after the holiday was booked) or hitch-hiking from just past Chelmsford to London (not that far admittedly) with someone I was pretty sure was a complete psycho from the moment he stopped to offer a lift, so as to not miss the West Ham playoff (that we lost 2-0) when my car broke down and the AA couldn't get there for some time. We were just over an hour from the ground and got fixed at approx 10 mins into the game so it was either make it for the second half at some point or go home and call it a day. We motored on and listening to the first half on the radio we went 2-0 before ht which confirmed we had made the right decision. Entered through home end and escorted through the concourses of home fans with stewards on all sides to us was interesting. Got into my seat just as Stewart rounded there keeper to make it 3-0. Ended 3-2 and got stuck in car park after for two hours but well worth it. [Post edited 5 Mar 2018 13:30]

WOW. Top lad!!!! Always annoys me when certain fans (Liverpool, Newcastle for example) claim they have the best fans......! Not much can beat that sort of loyalty. I'm sure every club has certain fans which go through that saga every week. Every club has amazing loyal supporters. Big shout out to your son..... Amazing!!! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

On the subject of Jose the Super Fan on 14:17 - Mar 5 with 2353 views | ITFC_Forever | Probably the time we played Leicester just after we got relegated. Me and my Mrs were god-parents to her best friend's daughter and the game was moved to a Sunday lunchtime for some reason. Went to the church for the service, then the restaurant they had booked for after. As soon as the meal finished, I made my excuses and left. Ran through Ipswich town centre in very humid 25 deg C heat, sweat was pouring off me and through my light blue shirt. Thought I'd walk the last hundred yards across the car park by Axa and heard a massive shout of "handball", followed a second later by cheering. Guessed it must have been a penalty to us, so sprinted the last bit.... got in the Lower North, just as Marcus Stewart stepped up and promptly put the penalty wide. It was still 0-0 at that stage, and we went on to win 6-1 and I went back to the post-christening party via Planet Blue and the purchase of a clean and sweat-free top. Another Sunday lunchtime game, this time against Sunderland, our Sunday league side had a cup game and we agreed with the opposition to kick-off early so the Town fans among us could go to the game. However, it went to extra-time, so by the time we parked the car (the Sunday morning cup game was in Felixstowe), the Town game had started. Same thing happened. We walked the last bit towards the ground, heard an appeal for handball and some cheering (although not as loud as before) and guessed it was another penalty. So we ran in and got in the Lower North just in time to see Marcus Stewart roll another penalty wide - this time though, he was in the red and white stripes of Sunderland.

And went to that stockport game and back in an evening from the previously mentioned rugby league hotbed.

Driving very quickly after picking up my now ex from Luton airport to make Soton at home on a Tuesday night. Going to Oldham to watch a dismal 0-4 defeat in a blizzard is deserving of a medal on its own. Swapping a shift to work all through the night after having already done the day shift so I could make Town v Walsall in the last game of the 99-00 season.
