Yes, came across very well I thought, much more measured & thoughtful, which is hardly surprising now that he's no longer under pressure, & has had time to reflect and gain some perspective.

He reiterated his original comment re the oddity of being expected to be "caretaker of my own job" - I'm surprised more people didn't pick that up from Tuesday. My guess is that the decision-makers at the club thought that situation could just about be managed, until it became clear through the reality and actuality of Tues night that it was in fact untenable.

Plus the "staleness" factor of course. Every manager of a club has a natural timespan, it's usually pretty clear when that's up.
