He's done well from a defend from the front perspective, and has won several headers against Derby's backline, but as a striker he doesn't look like scoring and as others have said, his touch has been a bit wayward.
Whenever we've gone forward it seems like we're trying to walk the ball in the net, would like to see us work some space and get the shot off. |  | | |

He's been isolated in all the games albeit for different reasons, I think he'll look better once he's managed a goal or two and he has a bit more support.
Still, with Keogh booked I'm looking forward to seeing Jackson run at him.
Also tonight, I'm impressed by Ward's willingness to take players on, much more like what Hurst will want to see. |
Still feel we're two players missing from being a very good team. Defensively we look sound and Nolan and Edwards want the ball in m/f.
We need a better left winger and I think we need someone who can hold it when it gets played up front and then slip in Harrison/Jackson.
Ward isn't good enough for me. He's no winger. Keeps cutting inside all the time. We've got no goal threat. |  |
