Why does Marcus Evans inflict so much pain on our football club? 11:40 - Feb 10 with 486 viewsBluedandy

In some dank torture chamber of ME's mind is an inappropriate pleasure derived from our predicament?

Brand Marcus has certainly taken a hammering since he tripped through the door all those years ago.

Now we the fans must be punished because the club has exposed to the world his multiple failures as a football/business owner.

Maybe deep down this Chelsea supporter and alleged master of the commercial universe, who has flipped and flopped from one football-related disaster to the next, can just never forgive us.

Town is the rapidly ailing patient, the drugs aren't working, and yet Doctor Strangelove carries on prescribing the same deadly Glaswegian made medication that could well finish us off.

Alternatively he might be profoundly incompetent, but the longer it goes on with Shambo in the dugout the weirder it becomes.

It's not weird, it's not some torture chamber, it's economics.

Evans's business has taken a hammering, and it looks like it won't be back to it's former glory anytime soon, he hamstrung himself by giving Lambert a 5 year contract with nonsense break clauses, which has left him exposed to huge pay outs.

Part of it is ego.

He doesn't want this project to be a failure, and this seems to cling onto it despite having none of the ability or resources to actually fix it.

Had he sold up in 2016-17 time, when we had a good manager in post, were in a good league with some decent players on the books still, he's have actually got something back for the club and prevented all the losses he's had since. Instead he hung on, hoping for a miracle while proving us with the 4th or 5th lowest budget in that league and the rest is history.

He'll be lucky to get 10million for it in it's current state, and next season it will be even worse.
