I have to disagree. Paul Simon is a genius, one of the best songwriters ever, and often underrated. All of his work up to an including Graceland would be up with the finest ever canons of popular music. However, my opinion, the very finest songs include many with Art Garfunkel, including: For Emily Whenever I may Find Her Kathy's Song America Sound of Silence Bridge over Troubled Water Mrs Robinson And many others

Which of those were written by Art? It's fairly clear that Paul could have managed quiet well without Art but not the other way round.

Simon's songs were great but they wouldn't have been such mega hits without Art's arranging.

Obviously true but all of those songs were better with Art's voice. He had a really beautiful voice, Paul Simon has a perfectly serviceable voice.

Well spotted! Another truly great song, which should probably be on that list - again helped by Art's voice.
