I don't really get the anti ex Norwich thing. If its someone born and bred there that's one thing, but is there not an argument that it would be satisfying, that their greatest ever manager had such little respect that he would come here. Imagine Burley going to Norwich, I imagine it would annoy Town fans far more than it annoyed theirs. Especially if he was successful. I sure i'm in the minority but honestly appointing Farke wouldn't bother me, always seemed like a decent bloke.

Agreed on all counts. Farke is the standout on that list.

Fifty seven year old, Watford born, Frank Yallop is the recently appointed manager of Monterey Bay FC who will begin playing in the USL Championship next year:

[edit] Interesting management career that includes the club that became Phoenix Rising - so he cannot be unknown to our directors.

I maybe due an A grade whoosh here, but Yallop was the one who got Gamechanger interested in Town in the first place.

That's one of the most depressing lists I'll ever see.

I'd take 90% of them over Cook any day of the week. Unfortunately a lot of them wouldn't come to us.

90%. So which two or three of that sorry bunch would you not take? I’m curious.

I'd be curious too. Don't forget Timmy is a football expert and has worked professionally in the game. His reply is going to be GOLD!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think I may have managed to whooosh myself because if I ever knew that I had forgotten, but I think I did not know that. On a more serious note it does look like Yallop's management career is going a bit Curbishly. I could be wrong and he may be motivated by getting fledgling clubs into the major league but Las Vegas and then Monterey sounds a bit let the good times roll and then chill for a while as the years catch up with you.

Brighton fans don’t speak of Hughton very highly. If the consensus was Mick’s football was desire, Hughton will go little way to improving that. Here’s hoping the appointment of McGreal can iron out the defensive frailties we keep seeing because Cook’s side’s going forward are a joy to watch.

McGreal’s with the U23s, not the main squad (unless something’s changed since yesterday).

If we’re looking at that list, I’d give up. That was the Evans way to compensate for his inability to judge the fit of a manager (and save some money on compensation). I’d like to think/hope we’re better than that now.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I've not worked in close quarters with any of those managers but whilst 90% was slightly OTT the only ones I wouldn't take right now over Cook are

TONY PULIS
PAUL LAMBERT
SOL CAMPBELL

That’s his title but common sense would dictate he’s going to be heavily involved in first team affairs and instilling some rigidity and mental resilience in some of that defence.

So you’d take 63 year old Pulis. Kicked out of Stoke 8 years ago, long ball dinosaur that’s done nothing since. Apart from failing at three clubs.
Next you offer Paul Lambert. A total failure here in every way bar a few good press conferences early on and a few old videos of Celtic and Dortmund. In the running after Hurst as Town’s worst ever manager. There’s cats and dogs in Battersea that could do better than him.
Lastly Sol Campbell. I take it you put him in because he was a top Centre Half. Not for his managerial record, as he hasn’t got one, or that he’s a young manager, given he’s 47. 12 years older than Robson was when he came here.
Wow. Well, at least you offered three names, though surely you are on a bit of a wind up?

I wouldn’t mind seeing us give Carrick a go if Cook was to leave.

Came across well in his interview Thursday.

Don’t question the Yeo… apparently he ‘knows about football’ and might even have played it once…

I coached albeit for a limited time at a much higher level than I ever played.

Which is why it is plain as day to me that Cook isn't getting anywhere near enough out of this side both on a motivational and tactical level and the way he went about last season which you lot sung his praises for was likely to come back at him.

This wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Am I hearing the strains of ‘Frank Lampard’s Ipswich heading over the hill? God forbid.

Wayne Rooneys Derby somehow doesn't sound so good now though.
