Think the original rationale for the 3pm blackout is that any football broadcast potentially reduces ticket sales.
Hypothetically if you can't watch Morecambe v Ipswich, you might go buy a ticket for another game instead (not untrue for me, as it happens, if there was no chance of me watching our game I might be tempted to go watch Leyton Orient just down the road from me!) [Post edited 7 Oct 2022 11:45]

I know this is somewhat jokey but that would be breaking the law.
I don't think iFollow really cares, they'd probably make more money if they didn't bother with the checks but I imagine for compliance reasons they have to show they are preventing it even if they don't put that much effort into it. Most VPNs bypass the checks. |  |

I think the sentiment of the post may be that the blackout is lifted for a limited number of people (ie - season ticket holders) and only when there are no more tickets available, so it won't have a further negative impact. Which in itself doesn't sound unreasonable. |  | | |

Licensing rights, I expect. I agree with you though. The answer is a VPN, but they cost to get a reliable one (so I believe). Logically, it makes no sense other than there's a contract somewhere saying it can't be done. |  |

No need to buy a VPN. Just use one of the Google Chrome free Add on VPN's to make the payment and start the video. Once it's started turn off the VPN.
