I think I'm right in saying the first round will be 16 groups of 3 teams, with 2 going through from each group. This is stupid as it leaves it open to collusion if the two playing the final game need a draw (or more specifically a scoring draw) to send them both through. |  | | |

Group stages are held in multi city regional groupings eg west, east, south + Mexico, north + Canada, think there’s a central one too, something like that. Still big areas and dunno about the knockouts. Big as it is there’s a good chance to visit some off the beaten track places, Kansas City Guadalajara. So pros and cons but I’d take it over a booze free slave state built in a desert any day | |
