Feel bit pissed off.
International fan with towntv membership.
First match of the season not on towntv and not shown here on sky.
Anybody feel the same or an alternative viewing?

I understand your frustration kiwiblue. I will be able to watch the game here only because PL hasn't started yet as the same local channel here has the rights to broadcast. So once PL starts very slim chances to catch a Championship game in the same TV slot.

I am in NZ town tv doing commentary, nz sky doesn't show Championship games but Biin Sports showing it $1 week trial can actually see on TV as well as computer.

Alternatively get yourself an IPTV sub, problem solved and cheaper in the long run.

This might have something to do with EFL unsold markets (see Inernational FAQs)

I have just VPN'd Italy and the game live option is there,
maybe a case of fiddling around with VPN till it works

At least us foreigners will only have to hold on for a season before we´re in the Prem and it'll all be pretty straight forward viewing then no matter where we are.

Is this what you are referring to, which I assume is legit?

https://iptv-subscription.co.uk/

If so, I have some questions.

Does it work in the UK?

Can you stream direct to PC without the need for a set top box?

Will it show all Ipswich games which are on Sky?

What about those midweek games available on the Sky red button?

It certainly seems good value, with an annual subscription for only £49.

EDIT: I've come across this which indicates there are other IPTV providers.

In the meantime,it's going to no doubt be a minefield of streams of audio and visual delights and horrors...and the problem with cost of living in varied countries to go the official way is not lost on me either where 20 pounds or whatever it is a month in one country is nothing but in another its a huge amount...that's something I am surprised hasn't been considered....maybe it has ?

Ffs hadn't realised that, I'm in same boat too then.

Can you watch on Sunderland follow perhaps?

Otherwise if anyone could also inbox me with a suggestion as well I'd be hugely grateful!

I didn’t know about the EFL publishing locations where you can watch around the world, don’t know if it’s of use to you?

You wait til next season when the number of Championship games on Sky triples.
Of course, we'll be in the Prem by then so maybe it won't matter so much.

Switzerland is one of the locations, and a whistle-stop trip there, followed by visiting the Town TV site, indicates a video match pass is available to buy for the Sunderland game.

Whether it will work on the day if you're not actually in the country is perhaps another matter, but it does suggest that if you live in the following countries, you can get a Town TV video pass even for games on Sky.

Albania
Austria
Hong Kong
Italy
South Korea
Switzerland
The countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

I'm in Switzerland and currently shows only an audio pass option available. Might change tomorrow I guess.

That's strange. Maybe you need to use a VPN to locate you in Switzerland (even though you are actually there) which is what I did.

But this (lower down the page) indicates they are able to in certain countries.

https://www.efl.com/news/2023/august/04/how-to-watch-and-follow-the-efl-on-the-o

Indeed, the list is actually wider than I mentioned because it includes "The Unsold Territories" which include, say, Portugal.

Any suggestions on how I can follow the game in Hungary? Can you watch via pay per view on Sky? Or will Town tv have audio commentary? Suggestions much appreciated!
