Yeah funny, but the real concern..... on 12:19 - Apr 2 with 3133 views | Bloots | ....is that De Zerbi seems keen to get out of Brighton and he's being linked with various jobs, most recently Munich. On the face of it KM would be his very, very obvious replacement. We need to go up.
| Enduringly lovable, intelligent and thunderingly exquisite. |

Think it's unlikely at this point. When have a club of anything approaching Man U's size appointed a manager with no top flight experience?

My guess is that they are thinking of him as a potential manager in 1-3 years time.

Even if we do go up might he be tempted? Spending a season in the top flight with Burnley hasn’t done Kompany’s reputation much good | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Arteta at Arsenal. Alonso at Leverkusen. ETA - OK, Leverkusen won’t be seen as big as United but… [Post edited 2 Apr 12:42]

Although he does have top flight experience, as an assistant, at Man U.

McKenna to Man Utd on 12:49 - Apr 2 with 2633 views | BloomBlue | He would be crazy to go at this early stage. Go too early and you end up in the Potter, Lampard, Gerrard graveyard. I also don't think a club like ManU would gamble on a manager who hasn't managed a single Prem season yet.

Fair points re Pep and Arteta but they had been very big players at those clubs, which I think makes a big difference. McKenna was a coach at Old Trafford, obviously, but I'm not sure that's quite the same. Think he would need to have had another Premier League job - here or at somewhere like Brighton or Palace - before being in a position to get offered jobs of that size.

I agree; as I said before I think it’s too soon for him, from both his and United’s perspective. But then building a career at another Premier League club then moving to a top six side hasn’t resulted in much success either - see Moyes and Potter.

Can’t think of any. Rodgers only had 1 PL season when he went to Liverpool, but that’s the closest I’ve got.

Brighton significantly more likely than Utd, but given the chance he has to build an empire with us, not so sure he’d want to go just yet.

McKenna to Man Utd on 13:53 - Apr 2 with 1948 views | Simonds92 | I'm not convinced they would take the risk but, let's be honest we've all seen how good McKenna is. I would back him to succeed in any top job even without the top flight experience.
McKenna to Man Utd on 13:56 - Apr 2 with 1903 views | ArnieM | If KMCK went back to Manure, he'd want his head seeing too. And since hes a well adjusted human being , I dont think there's any likelihood of that happening..
